I posted this in the " Photos with/of Classic Cameras" thread this morning and it never showed up in the Active Threads From The Forums list. At least not the one I see. So I'm making it a new thread.

David Richert has posted the winners of the Classic Camera Contest "Where I live". For those with modest cameras -- a Brownie 620 box camera made an Honorable Mention.

But wait! There's more!

Dave is planning another contest for classic cameras. He is thinking of a contest using cameras from the 1950s . Let's see...My FEDs are too new (1960s), my Speed Graphic is too old (1940s) but my Brownie Hawkeye and Meopta Flexaret (1950s) are just right. So is my Agfa Isolette II but it's in pieces.

Same here, with Frank's/Doug's old IIIf, a recently arrived IIIf RD ST, an Ansco Super Regent and one of Gordon's favorites a Zorki 3 I'm over equipped.

Hmmm, my FED 2 e may be a 1960's range finder.
 
And there's a late 50's Isolette III, mid 50's Ansco Super Speedex, Agfa Record III, Rolleicord V, and last but not least an early 1950's Billy Record II. Yep, I have more than enough.
 
Hmmm.... My Minolta A5 may qualify. I'll have to double check the production dates, but I believe it was sometime around '59 or '60.
 
Captain, does your Minolta A5 look like this one? The reason I ask is because I see Minolta A5's on the internet that do not look at all like mine. It has a 40mm f2.8 Rokkor lens. I haven't taken photos with it because it needs a cla. The shutter opens when I release the shutter button instead of when I push the shutter button. Strange, huh?

As it happens, it was. Was in the right place at the right time - then all I had to do is shoot and just about whatever camera you have, the picture will be great. Even a Hasslebox won't take great pictures for you if you don't point it in the right direction !!! That's my excuse anyway.
 
Schlapp -- I hope to participate in the next Classic Camera contest with my Brownie Hawkeye and Meopta Flexaret. It's a great idea for a contest. And you took a fine picture with that box camera. Glad to see you over here at the RFF! I hope a number of RFFers will show up for the next Classic Camera contest.

You've got an A5!!?!? Wow! I thought I was the only one! :D

Mine is similar. It has the 45mm Rokkor f/2.8, though. From what little info is available I've found online about his model, there were two variations on it. Either a 40mm or 45mm lens or the shutter speed went to 500 or 1000. They were made with either of the four combonations of those lens/shutters. It takes great pictures! If you go to my gallery and look at the Fairy Stone Park pictures, you'll see what it can do.

Sounds like yours definitely needs some work! ;) I've got to take mine in again, as it appears to havea light leak somewhere.
