Another fine bag from Fogg: B Minor

Fuwen, you must remember that right now, everyone in the US is a bit touchy about what they perceive as extravagant expenses, because of some very bad behavior by ethically challenged financial executives. But, when it comes to Fogg and most camera gear, you get what you pay for. Right, Leica buddies? As for my Fogg, it is not ostentatious at all, being black fabric with black leather trim, a very sedate look all in all. Now, if you really want to be outraged over the price of a Fogg, let me tell you what I paid for mine a couple of years ago... $75 USD from Adorama on Ebay! I challenge anyone to show me a better bag for $75! (Actually it was $85 with the shipping.) I really think these personal condemnations because someone thinks someone else paid too much for gear are quite childish. If it is not the right bag for you, fine, don't buy one. But don't think you have the moral high road just because something doesn't suit you. Also, to assume the only way to buy a Fogg, or anything else, is for full retail, you might want to do a little exploring on the internet machine.
 
I find this thread amusing in some ways actually I find it to be an oxymoron!

Fogg Bag = $$$

So you spend $3k-$7k for a camera body and $2k-$10k for 1 lens and you want to push your silly contradicted philosophy on someone for buying a fine handmade Fogg bag to go with a handmade camera.

I don't get it? So I suggest those of you who are being silly to trade in the Leica for a Rebel and let the rest of us alone that work hard and want to spoil ourselves instead of just working and giving to the government.

I just ordered my first Fogg eflat in Charcoal and Oak and am thrilled to shell out the cash to two hard working individuals that bust their rump to provide a hand made fine piece of craftsmanship! In fact I would have paid twice the going price!

The alternative???? I guess I could buy something made in a sweat shop and keep the churn going of child slave labor so who are you and what are your values?
 
I just bought a used Fogg bLaika from eBay after seeing the same bag owned by a wealthy friend. It truly is a beautiful thing. This is the story that has me hooked: I emailed Fogg to inquire about getting a longer strap, as I am fairly tall. bee emailed back asking for photos of the bag so that she could match the colors and make sure everything would work properly, as some of the older bags had straps that could not be replaced. She gave me the history of the bag and told me that she would be happy to make me a strap, either for payment, or since the money transfers were expensive, in exchange for a particular book she wanted! What an absolute delight, and one that exceeded only by the lovely tenor of our subsequent emails. bee made a strap, but also a customer for life. I would highly recommend them for both their design/quality as well as the relationship they cultivate with their customers. A truly genuine person.
