Pardon for adding another direction to the rumor madness. I only do this as I believe Ricoh knows more about building a photographer friendly small camera than anyone. I do not believe they are considering a full size SLR like Pentax though.

The original GRD is a classic and I told my grandson to hang on to it no matter what.

So we have another twist coming here. I really like the GF-1 approach for focusing, move the focus ring and you get a 5x croping for focus assitance. Not sure when it goes back for framing but it's an apealing approach. You could do the same thing with a wisely placed button for those who don't use m4/3s glass. I would love to see Ricoh and CV come out with some M4/3s prime glass. That would push me over the edge.

I do agree the GRD line rocks, works the way I want to about 95% of the time. I'm still battling with the flash for the last 5%. I want to use an external optically salved old flash to augment the in camera. Older slaves do not work and not sure who/what to buy with a high probability it will work. I also wish they came out with moderate telephoto prim version (say 75mm).

Thanks for the heads up, it’s going to be interesting to watch over the coming six months or so. We might be at the start of the next great movement (e.g SLRs, OM, AE, AF).
