Hi folks,

I recently purchased myself a Bessa r3m + Heliar 50 f/2 and I'm totally fallen in love with it! It's my first rangefinder and it feels so much better than huge dslrs.

Below are some "****ed up" lab scans from the first roll shot with my new baby.. don't know what they did with the negs but they shouldn't look like this ... so I plan to develop them by myself next time. Any tips which chemicals to use on Kodak tmax and tri-x 400 ?!

All captured on Kodak bw400cn film @ f/2 , 1/15-1/125s

Welcome to the forum, flipo. Your negs are probably OK but the scans are a little odd. glad you're enjoying the Bessa.

As for developing your own, I'd advise picking one film and sticking to it for a while. My preference would be for Tri-x. For chemical and equipment advice it may pay to have a look through the archives in the darkroom forum. There's been a lot of good stuff for the first time developer lately.

Enjoy your new R3m, the few photo''s you posted are fine. nice compossions.

I too have bught a R2, But it is not complete, I need a lens, the CV 35mm F/2.5 Classic I think.

Looking forward to post as soon as I can in Jan 07 I guess, with my Bessa R2

Welcome and good luck with the R3M. Peaceful and nice shots. I use Kodak's 1:4 developer for TMax and Trix

I love this lens, you will be pleased when you get it..... at least until you get a nice gas attack for something faster, or longer or shorter or.....😀

OK, I gotta ask -- What is a "gas" attack? Will I get one, too, now that I've order an R?
You don't want to hear this, but it's inevitable (and expensive)...

Gear Acquisition Syndrome - hits everyone at one time or another...

Most likely. It seems inevitable that when one of us aquires something new, it only leads to longing for something in addition to the original item.

There must be some corollary somewhere that states this. You'll probably enjoy your new Bessa. Then you'll want a new lens. It only grows from there...

Relax. Inhale. Acknowledge your first GAS attack! 🙂

Gear Acquisition Syndrome! Ah-Ha! Yes, I have had it but my wife calls it "wasting our money" - Now there's a medical term I can use she may understand what with me already negotiating for a (used) must-have CV 35mm Skopar 2.5 to add to the Industar 61L/D that ships with the (again, used) Bessa

Well, thanks for the answer, lads. Time to browse CamerQuest and ebay some more.
