this time, made from a lovely old pentax leather neck strap. i used green crosstitch yarn to make the wrap. i did not glue it, as i intend to re-wrap with waxed linen lines, probably in black. pics shot with the dependable fuji j10 p&s on macro mode.

I'd recommend two means of securing the strap (wound thread, rivet, glue, stitches) as being much more secure than any one method and without much more effort. Much like contraception devices.

no, didn't leave in the peg. i did run the line twice through all three holes. when i rewrap with waxed linen leather stitching line, i will run the line through the holes several times, and smooth on some gel cyanoacrylate when the wrap is finished.

when i make one from scratch with leather "ribbon," i will stitch the sandwich with an awl, using waxed linen, before wrapping ...

Horse tack shops sell reins already surface finished in 6'+ lengths for a few bucks. One reins would get you more than a few wrist strap lengths.
