Another NeoPan 1600 Wedding

There's been a few wedding threads and I thought I would add photos from a recent wedding I shot with my Bessa R2A, CV 21mm f/4 Color Skopar and Jupiter-3 50mm f/1.5 on NeoPan 1600.

These are scans the lab did, I've been meaning to redo them on the CoolScan 4000 ED I have at work.

This had more to do with using film so I put it in that section instead of a critique forum but feel free to give any feedback you feel is appropriate. I did not develop these myself so I am unsure of what developer was used.

I agree, 21mm is certainly too wide.I'm hoping a nice 35mm lens is in my near future. Thanks for the comment.

The graininess of the film and the dreaminess of the J3 are a surprisingly good combination.

It didn't come across in the colour digital photos, but yah it looks more like a funeral than a wedding in the B&W shots.

With the 21mm there is just too much fall-off at the edges. Not necessarily from the lens itself but because it was so wide and the light from the window came in such a narrow band. It also seems a little ugly in the shaded areas of the face.

Having said that I prefer the film shots to the untouched digital files. I agree with Nh3 that these aren't great in and of themselves but a good jumping off point for future work.

I know this is not a critique forum, but I'm just wondering why on picture #2 everyone's eyes are pitch black, especially the little boy.

And more importantly, what can we do about it aside from using a little flash to open up the shadows? I myself do not like to use flash especially with an RF.

Well looking at the brides dress, the contrast is too much for me. I am in favour of more subtile greys. But I like the framing of your images.
(With roberto I wonder why everybody is looking so serious)

Just used a roll of Neopan 1600, and the contrast is a real feature. The midtones aren't there, but it creates a great look. Great snaps. If I had to do a wedding, I'd def take some Neopan.
