This is my first post here. I've been lurking on and off for a while and am very impressed with the quality of shooters here and the great comrodery between members. I decided a couple of weeks ago to add a electro 35 G to my set of cameras. I ended up with an almost perfect 35 G of of ebay for $24.00. As soon as I got it I made a quick bottom spring out of a paper clip for the new shorter 6v battery and then I shot a test role. Everything works like new. No light leaks, shutter works perfect. The images are wonderful and the lens is so sharp and fast! I can tell I will have lots of fun with this one.

I do have some questions. The RF is a little cloudy. It looks like condensation or some sort of fogging in spots inside of it. Should I try to clean this out? Will it brighten up the focus diamond if I do? If I should how hard is it? I am mechanically inclined but I tend to shy away from things like cameras, clocks and automatic transmissions.

Thanks,
D.

Thanks greyhoundman. I have checked the yashica-guys website. That is one of the reasons I chose the camera I have. I guess my big question is, will cleaning up the little spots help brighten up the diamond or is it usually sort of dim anyway? I used my dads rangefinder when I was a kid and it was dim in his camera way back when it was new. So I don't know if it's worth my time to clean it. I take photos that are tack sharp focus the way it is.
