Looks a bit like the G-F1 to me . Is that a window top left ?Internal flash? If only it were an optical VF.
While we're on baseless speculation, I would suggest they're acknowledging the E-P2 hasn't seen off Panasonic. Much as I feel I'm being manipulated and letting the side down, I've signed up for an update.

Let's hope for internal EVF. It is possible that this is not a u 4/3 camera and is just a new stylus with a small sensor to compete with the Canon G10 or whatever.

Web consensus is that it's a new entry-level model, just one control wheel at 70% of the price of the EP2.

Olympus is really churning out new models.

Isn't the E-P1 still available and at about 70% of the price of the E-P2?

i thought i read somewhere that E-P1 sold like hot cakes - that's why olympus went ahead with e-p2 on such a short notice. There shouldnt be that many E-P1 around

I hope this presses down the price of the EP 1. I'd like one with the 17 and the viewfinder for 5 or 6 hundred lightly used. Could care less about EVF or flash though black would be nice.

I've already seen several EP1s sell for under $500 on Fred Miranda.

Only because of the E-P2...

Maybe the new Olympus is going to have a fixed lens and be called the E-Trip...!

The new model according to rumour has a plastic body; there's been debate about whether it's fixed lens, but consensus now according to 43rumors.com is that it's interchangeable.
Wish they'd do a smaller EVF though.

People are saying it's going to be an entry model. I'd go with that...

What's amazing to me is their (Olympus) obsession with zoom kit lenses.
When are they going to get it through their thick head (or marketing dept.) that small prime lenses would look much better and improve the usability of the small cameras?

I couldn't agree with you more. I think I should hire some web developer to set up some sort of email machine that just emails them from a million different address's "NO MORE KIT ZOOMS"
The moment they get serious and make some GOOD primes for both their 4/3 and m4/3 systems, they'll unlock parts of the market that they've never dreamed of before.

Kit zooms are what their target market wants, I think...
