Another one bites the dust: No more Fuji GF 670...

I wonder if CV will continue making the camera under their name?

If it does not sell, they go obsolete pretty fast.

The whole thing is almost self fulfilling, the lower film sales, the more expensive it gets, the more digital is sold, the less film is made and so on.

Darkrooms are tough in most homes due to space. Without one, photography is not fun. Sorry, the way it is.

Digital at least allows using your computer.

It surprises me EU Kodak accepted the coating lines for retirement settlement. Maybe there was no choice.

Can't say that I am surprised (although saddened from the perspective of film) -- there are simply too many (old) low cost MF folders out there, and for darkroom printing, I find 6x9 a lot more useful than 6x7.

Just my 2c

This camera was a non starter from the beginning. It should have been a f2.8 with a GREAT bokeh, and it would fly off from the shelves, even at a slightly higher price. Look at the prices of 20 year old Plaubels 67... The world does not need more boring film cameras.

The GF has really $hiite Bokeh not to mention zero chance of edge sharpness wide open ;)

This camera was way too expensive. $2500 for a fashion camera was a bit much.

I bought mine used for much less. Since then, I rediscovered the fun of taking pictures on film. But I also needed to buy a really good dedicated MF scanner. This sums up to pretty much money. But looking at the results, and the fun the camera gives while using it, makes it worth every cent.

So I won't miss it, because I have one, but it is really sad, that such a good camera will not be around anymore for long.

fashion camera? hardly.

that camera in both nameplates (Fuji and Voigtlander) and both versions (80mm and wide) are strictly for shooters. If anything it was priced too low. Look at current Rollei TLR new prices which give no better results.

The Voigtlander versions continue on, at least for the time being.

the GF670 is $1400, the Wide version is the one expensive but really.. name a 28mm (35mm equivalent) 6x6/6x7 camera that is as compact as the GF670W.

I'm glad that I bought my 670 early this year as it is my favorite MF/Travel camera.
I opted out the Wide version and went with the old GSW690III instead because of cost plus for landscape, I like 6x9 more than 6x7

Would have loved to own one but could not justify spending the $$$ when I already have the Mamiya 7II and Rollieflex.

. . . . . I just need to find the time to get out and shoot some film.

Time just flying by .....

That last one is gorgeous Marek.
Is it Pentax67 system. I'm not aware of another 2.8/90 for 120/220.
Or is it a Vega? I have a TS Vega but it's not really very good.

Cheers!

I love mine, I think it is the quietest camera I own. A lot of the time I cannot hear the shutter fire.

Since I am rarely trying to create "bokeh", good or otherwise, this camera works perfectly for me. I keep it because it produces some fine 6x7 photographs when I find the right composition. But for 6x6 I find my TLRs to be more enjoyable to work with.

I like the GF670 very much. I took it on a trip to Olympic National Park in Washington this summer. I shot a few rolls to decide whether or not I would sell it. Well, I am not selling. I am very pleased with the results.

I do agree Eric T. Everytime I consider selling mine it is a good indication I haven't been shooting it often enough. When I do use it I am very pleased with the results.

That last shot was actually P645 with the P67 90/2.8. It is not to say Fuji is a bad camera, but it is not sexy enough at this price.

Gotta admit it's not as compact, but my Horseman 842 Convertible has a 62mm 5.6 lens and can take a 6x9 film back, making it a 25mm wide angle eq. in 35mm film...

Paid EUR 500 for an overhauled camera with accessories and three film backs, a 6x7/220, a 6x7/120 and a 6x9/120.

Don't think I would pay EUR 500 for a GF670, which can only switch from 6x7 to 6x6, even when it folds up much smaller than the Horseman Convertible.
My folding 6x6 is a Zeiss-Ikon Super Ikonta B, the 532/16. It has a 2.8/80mm lens on it and I have a portrait diopter for lens and RF with it so I'm fine, thank you... ;)

My sympathies for all those that wanted a GF670 and had not yet saved enough pennies though.
