I am thinking of getting an R3A, but my main worry is that Bulb exposures will use a lot of battery power. Does anyone know which shutter speeds are battery independant? 😕

None as far as I know. I think I tried all shutter speeds on my R2a with no battery. None worked.

I say "think" because it was right after I opened the box and was excited to play with it 😛

I don't mind running out of batteries because it is just as stupid as saying "I don't want to shoot film, coz I am afraid of running out of film." However, I am quite concerned that if I do a look of slow speeds and B, my batteries will run out after say 10 rolls? which is not exactly a minus, just irritating.

Although there's some truth to that, I find it easier to predict the number of frames I can get out of a given amount of film than the number of rolls I get out of a set of batteries..

A frame counter works the same regardless of temperature and make/type of film. But with batteries, that's not the case. I've had cameras where sometimes I got 50 rolls on a set, and sometimes I'd be lucky to get a mere 5.

This is true, and the R2a/R3a has so "meter" indication of remaning voltage. Plus the shutter and meter behavior (at least in my experience) can be a bit weird when the battery is almost gone.
