Maybe global warming is good (it was from the end of the Dark Ages to the beginning of the Little Ice Age). I read that the biomass total world wide has increased by 5% a year. And not only replanting projects but the Brazilian forest is growing like mad.

This was in the documentary on Salgado, The Salt of the Earth. I consider it a must see documentary on a seminal photographer.
