Over the past 40+ years I have owned a varied collection of 35mm and 120 cameras. Leaving aside the SLR's and Rollioflex's this had included Leica barnack models and a Nikon S2. However the camera I always come back to is the humble Voigtlander Vito B. I love its design and simplicity.
Vito B's are now the only film cameras that I own and I have a number of them. Most have, to my knowledge, never been serviced but never the less still perform really well.
This is one of my best examples. c1957 - from memory I think it cost £40

Here is slightly older one that cost me £10 as the seller thought that the shutter was broken. It wasnt and functions perfectly. Its not far off mint condition.

This one (with the earlier 4 speed Pronto shutter cost me all of £8!

I had a Vito B years ago and sold it to a friend ... You make me miss it now.
Oh well, they're out there, and if I buy another it will join my Vito II and Vitessa on the Voigtländer shelf for use.

You can add me to the Voigtlander fan club. No B, but I have two Vito IIs, a Vitomatic 1a, a (very basic) Bessa, and a Brillant.

It's addiction, I'm sure.
I was looking for something else and a Vito B with the Prontor-SVS shutter popped up. Very clean looking, clean case too, noted "slow speeds are slow"... probably hasn't been CLA'ed in 60 years. $32+$15 shipping.. Sigh.
It'll get sent out for a full service, of course.
And then join the Vito II, Vitessa, and Perkeo II on the 'Voigtländer users' shelf.
I'd better get an order out for some more film.

As shown in my avatar, I have the somewhat rare Vito BR. Purchased new by my father in 1958, he passed it on to me in 1975. No meter, but it taught me the mysteries of f-stop, shutter speed, and (at that time) film ASA.

Ok. I know I had a Vito-B. I may still have it! Need to go look through the " collection". I do remember it was a quite nice camera. I also had a folder Voigtlander in 35mm that I liked a little more I'm pretty sure I still have that one...Need to go look through the "collection". 😎

I looked through the collection. Turns out my favored folder Voigtlander is in fact a Vito-B. Cute little camera with a nice lens. Basic and quiet capable in the hands of us older film photographers who are comfy with shutter speeds, apertures, scale focus, and all that confusing stuff that young people have no clue about. Well...to be honest there are a very few young folks who do know ...but very few.
Love my Vito-B. It definitely stayed when I did my big camera purge ...I had over 500 cameras and about 2 years ago decided they needed to be in the hands of people who will use them. I couldn't...not enough time even if I tried. But I reserved a selection of cameras/lenses that I just couldn't let go. The Vito B was among them 😁

With the arrival of the cased Kontur 'open eye' finder my Vito B kit is complete!

In addition to the mint condition Vito itself and newly arrived Kontur, there is also a cased metal hood, 32mm UV filter. owners manual and period sales brochure. It all makes for a display that I find really pleasing - with the added benefit of being able to take it out of the cabinet and use it for its intended purpose!
