Voigtländer Vito B

First roll, of FP4 Plus, through the newly acquired Vito B. Speed/Aperture combinations all came out as good match, a bit of variation perhaps because the f stops are not "hard" clicked, more a detent, so some user margin there. Not many to check as only four speeds plus B on this shutter version. Still, pleased with the performance. Step up to, or is it down, to a C41 next ?

FP4 Plus test

It's the exact factory model, they also did an Aluminium finish one but they seem to loose the inner coating more, and it does indeed look the part.
I have one for the folding Vitessa that the inside coating was indeed scratched/worn out
I used flat black testors (model) paint to touch it up, it works fine

Other cool add-in is a rangefinder, I 've found a few
My favorite is the TELEX brand (I havent yet found a watameter) which I use until I found a Voigtlander RF (93/184)
The telex is easier to use (larger viewfinder) but the V looks better

The proper hood had inward "bumps" performing the same function as currrent tulip sunshades protecting from stray light from outside the format fitting light bundle .Like the tulips, it had to be put on the right way or it would vignette. No mention of the sunshade in the instruction book that came with the camera . But this was an era when people were expected to manage on their own

Also I recall that some skopars had focussing helixes while others just focussed by moving the front element and hence did best at medium distances .

I read that - "the version with the slower lens and Pronto shutter is a different build (unit focus) than the one with the faster lens, and Prontor SVS shutter (front cell focus) ."
Elsewhere that the f3.5 with the SVS remains unit focus.
