ok, so I've recently purchased a very slightly used ZM (my fourth) and a new CV 35 1.2 v II and there is quite a bit of rotational play between the lens and the body...nothing perpendicular to the film plane...no noticeable negative effect on film...it's simply annoying to have the lens shift while rotating the focus ring...is it possible to have it shimmed / adjusted to tighten the lens / camera interface?

The best camera is one that still works!
This happens on my OMs when I use my 50mm f1.2 Zuiko and it also annoys me ... so I know where you're coming from!
That said I haven't found a solution.

Had this issue with a Bessa R3A, returned it for a different one and the second one didn't have this problem.

On a more serious note ... do you have another M mount lens to try on the body?

My ZI has had this straight out of the box, with almost all of the ZM lenses I own. Hasn't bothered me enough to search for a solution, but it is annoying at times...

ok...after exhaustive scientific study and the compilation of mountains of data...this is what I've found...I've tried the suspect lens on multiple ZM bodies and I've tried multiple VC, Zeiss and Leica lenses on the suspect body and they all have a bit of play...maybe something slightly less than the combination in question, but not appreciably so...soooo I'm thinking that the difference that I'm feeling is caused by the greater diameter of the CV 35...all of the lenses, on all of the ZMs have a bit of rotational play...it's simply the size of the focus ring...so in this case gentlemen, size does matter...
