Ansco Super Regent Agfa Super Solinette filter question

I've got the manual, which says that I need series 5 filters, but I don't know how the filter adapter is attached to the camera, or how to determine which ones I'm seeing (on the 'bay) will actually work.
First: is the adapter screw in or push on?
Second: for either one, what is the right size?

The manual states a 30mm diameter of the filter mount, which would be the outer dimension. This is so you can apply a 30mm slip-on adapter that will hold a Series V filter. But the screw-in size is 27.5mm if you don't want to mess with Series filters. Might be easier to get slip-on 30mm filters instead, no adapter needed.

Thanks for that information. Do you mind if I ask where in the manual you found that? I've looked in the pdf from the Butkus site, and couldn't find it.

I have an Ansco Super Regent LVS and an Agfa Super Solinette, (also with LVS). I use 30mm push-on filters.

It seems these filters are beginning to get a little short in supply, according to the ebay seller I usually get them from, and she still sells them for less than other sellers.


EDIT: I've just looked in my scan of an Ansco Super regent LVS manual that I made from my printed copy ( I've been meaning to give to mike butkus a copy of the scsn so's he can make a pdf), and it states that the filter should be used with a standard 30mm slip on holder.

I think this actually means that Agfa thinks of "filters" are just bits of glass which go into metal bits that slide onto a lens. So all you need to do is look for filters that are already in metal mounts, it's very rare to just get pieces of glass on their own.

I never noticed the thread on the inside front of the lens, so I've just looked and the pdf's of the manuals for the non-LVS Super Regent and Super Solinette I got from Butkus, and I can't see any mention of a filter thread for screw-in filters.

Later Edit: I've looked again at my 3 pdf's, and in the Super Regent NON-LVS, as well as the the one for the LVS version, the filter-size info is on page 26, after "To Unload The Camera" on page 25, in the Super Solinette LVS, the info is at the bottom of page 33 after the "Flash Data" on page 32 and before the "Depth Of Field Table for Agfa Apotar f3.5 and Agfa Solinar f3.5" on pp34-35.

At the time Kodak came with the "Series" concept to have filters that fit several cameras.
Since each manufacturer needed slightly different size push-on filters, an adapter was cheaper that buying a whole new set of filters. Filters were just disks of glass with a metal ring (no threads). See here: https://camerapedia.fandom.com/wiki/Series_filters

I own adapters for Zeiss and Voigtander cameras (27.5 and 29mm push-on) from Kodak, and Tiffen (Metal) and plastic from EdnaLite
AGFA used 30mm push-on
