Very confused
Considering that a new M7 is now about $3500 in the USA I'd say the M8 at $4800 is about what we should expect.

I doubt the M8 will win too many photojournalists back to RF photography.. sure the camera is smaller and quieter, but the lack of AF is a deal breaker. Leica Ms were popular back in the days because advanced AF was not available on the SLRs. Today's DSLR performs extremely well with all of its automated functionalities. The M8 is a snail by comparison and don't even get them started with that bottom loading CF and battery...
