Just to be a big poop.
Antique wood or not you'll never know, Patina only affects the outer surface of it not the inner. You'll be able to get your organic design, no problem but how will you determine that it's old wood?

nah I have the old Penty 6X7 with wood grip. What I want is a nice organic slightly ergonomic grip.

There was a old thread that talked about an artisan who specializes in restoring old wooden buildings and furniture in China who made a grip for one China RFF.

I just love wood. Its a living material.
