Anton Corbijn bowing out

It doesn't give a very clear reason as to why he's packing it in, is it too difficult to get the budgets? Is he simply disheartened by the volume of images produced now, not given enough time (budgets again) or does he simply prefer directing films now which I'd imagine is far more lucrative anyway. One of those articles that throws up more questions than answers.

I think he has done quite a volume until now, some people do it until end and some move on to find something other. He isn't lying in his sofa arguing how unfair life is, he's still active and busy.

At the time of the original exposition in his hometown The Hague there were quite a few interviews in local newspapers and on Dutch tv. He is spending more time making movies and I did not hear him say he wouldn't photograph ever again. Just spending his time differently.

Yes, the article isn't very clear at all about Corbijn's motivation for "bowing out of professional photography" (which is an odd claim when, in the same article, it explains how Corbijn has apparently spent a great deal of time preparing prints for the exhibition). Even if that show is his swan song, Corbijn is 60 now – plenty old enough if he wants to consider himself retired from still photography (particularly as he has his directing work to keeping him busy).

I saw an interview with him recently and it is clear that his focus is more on making movies these day and growing in that medium.

I went to his exposition in The Hague which was mind-blowingly good.
