Hello to the RRF community!
I am new to the rangefinder world and I would like some ideas from you!:)
I am thinking of getting a cute rangefinder camera for my wife for christmas in order to lift her mood!!!
Is there any not that expensive, small, cute little camera in your mind?
I may change the leatherette to a pink one or something later...
Could you please guide me a little bit?

Thank you in advance for your time and inspiration!

Vas

Is she going to shoot it or put it in a display case? Also, what's "not that expensive?"

Reason I ask the first one is that, IMO, there are some very cute RF's out there but may be a PITA to shoot, while there are others that look very utilitarian but are definitely the ones to get if you plan on shooting them.

If you don't care about its utility, you may just want to check out the cameraleather site to get some ideas.

Good luck and happy thanksgiving (US)!!!

Yep you're right Keith!!!
Happy thanksgiving to you too!

She likes to shoot, and she want's to enter the film world...

As a matter of price I was thinking, let's say a couple of hundred euros (250$)...

Well, for 200,00 € a nice, black Minolta Hi-Matic 7 SII, as bensyverson already suggested, seems reacheable within your budget. The Olympus 35 RC is another great option, and far easier tofind than the Minolta. Also quite useable and not that difficult to repair. On the other hand, you can also try the cute - and slightly quirky - Voigtländer Vitomatics IIa with the superb Ultron lens (or its later cousin, the Vitomatic IIIb). The downside is their relative rarity, as Vitomatics with Ultron lenses aren't very common and tend to reach fairly high prices.

Balda.
Reminds me of what Pixar would make a RF camera look like.

Thank you all for your responses!
It seems that the Wera is super cute... but I think that I may go for the Minolta or the Olympus... (Why RC instead of RD???)

Rule 1.

She won't find that much of a difference if it's an RF.

Rule 2.

You don't need to get into RF if you don't feel the need to.
