Your initial impression? The good--the bad--the ugly??
While the announced Zeiss 25mm/2.0 Batis (July release) is tempting, I'm not sure that price ($1250?) is worth it for me, while the Sony 28/2.0 FE seems like it is a good enough performer at a very reasonable price point.
Your thoughts?

I was waiting for some user reviews too but read a test somewhere that the performance was not that great.
Desided to pass and wait for the 25mm

I got one early on. You need to get the profiles for ACR to fix distortion. Other than that it's perfect for me.
Look at the dxo review for this lens if you're interested in the technical stuff. But for everyday use, I've been satisfied. Plenty sharp, fast and silent af all in a small and affordable package.

Good to hear. Are there any corner color shift before correction is applied?

That's actually the review that I had read before starting the thread -- words like good, okay, decent made me infer that it was a 'good enough' performer, especially at f4 to f5.6 where I would likely use this the most.

Reconnected.
I was tempted to get one to pair with the excellent 55mm, but I was underwhelmed with what I was seeing from image samples. I just use my Leica 28mm elmarit (V3) when I want 28mm instead. Works fine adapted to the camera.
