So, on the weekend my favorite club made it from fifth to fourth division!

I documented the event with my (sorry) Canon 60D 😉
Please take part in my enjoyment and have a look at my little set of images:

(I hope this is the right forum as I couldn't locate a "gallery" thread)

any feedback is appreciated of course 🙂

Congrats!

Oh, it was a weird season: Bayern left with no title, Hannover 96 fourth in the league...
Loved it!

Sad though, that St. Pauli went down.

Cheers,
Uwe

hi and thanks 🙂

Season finale was great - especially in the lower ranks (I'm happy Borussia Moenchengladbach managed to hold the league - I quite like them)

I'm already looking forward to next season...there's something missing on the weekends now...

Actually, real football is developing quite a strong following here. It used to be a bit of an orphaned child up gainst NRL and AFL.

I think AFL still gets the biggest crowds ... the final can be between 90 and 110,000 fans most years.

'real football' - love it.

Just imagining the news people "and now to the results from the _real_ football league"...

Actually, there's a German player - Thomas Broich - who just won the Australian Championship with his team. Yay!

Good photos, Heimo.
And congrats for Waldhof.
I remember the days, they played under Schlappner in the first league.

ah yes, those were the days...

For the coming years I would by more than happy if they can establish themselves in the third league...maybe second (one can always hope 😉)

nice picture!

can't wait until season starts again 😉

I'm Newcastle fan who's just happy to have retained Premiership status for next year. The pain of 2009's relegation still lingers!

How did Hoffenheim fare? I've read a fair bit about their new found riches and subsequent rise up the leagues over there.

Great pix Heimo! I'm from Manchester (the red half) and have been marooned over here in the Colonies 😉 for many years and regrettably they call the game "soccer" here. I miss football (and rugby) very much; watching it on the telly isn't the same. Congratulations to you and your team, I hope they do well after their promotion! 🙂

@simon
ah Newcastle - I used to play them sometimes in FIFA08 with limited success (liked their jerseys, though 😉

But nice to see them back in the Premier League!

Hoffenheim was not very successful this year and exchanged coaches twice, but I think they do have a promising team with young talented players...we'll see...sounding like a sports reporter here...

@peter
thank you!
soccer...barbarians 😉

And I also hope they'll do well (after all we were degraded to fifth division last year only because of financial reasons. New leadership, new hope 🙂)

Nice photos. Congrats too!
Also, good fans! those guys up there on the wire remind me of our local fans (I live in Argentina).

Oh Waldhof. I remember that they played in the 1st league. It was a long way down. I'm always astonished that people still visit "their" club even in the bad days. Those are the real fans.

Interesting photographs. I love the chap eating his dinner amid all the mayhem. Here in England all grounds have a smoking ban.

Looks like a riot but then the europeans do love their fireworks except in the UK where you would be arrested for carrying them.
I hear ice hockey in Canada is having a few crowd rioting problems lately. Any photos of that?
