Will be getting a GSW690III in a few days. Anything I should know about theis camera that is unique knowledge? Not sure if there are any quirks with this particular camera. Mine will be like new with a 047 counter.

That means 470 shots. About 5000 should be safe before maintenance.
If you make a search you should find other threads about this camera with a lot of info.

Fuji still does maintenance.
Fuji still does maintenance.
As long as it's not abused, don't even worry about the suggested 5000 shot maintenance. Actual discussion with Fuji and also with Frank Marshman at Camera Wiz (greaty service there) both indicate that the shutter is far more durable and reliable than the service interval suggests.
One VERY key consideration (which I believe is mentioned in the manual) is to keep tension on the film across the film gate, using a finger on the supply roll and tension on the lever, right up to clicking the door shut. If you allow the film to lay loose across the gate as you close the camera, about halfway through the roll, film will start bunching up. (This is a consistent tip for ALL 120/220 roll film cameras that don't use preloaded magazines or backs).
Fantastic cameras. Have had early and late 690's, normal and wide. Images will knock your eyes out, if you've never shot larger frame medium format, and Fuji rivals the best.
I also have a Fuji GA645Zi with 32,000 clicks on the counter and going strong. Only repair has been replacing the LCD screen on the back. The data cable at the hinge takes a beating after opening and closing the camera 3500 to 4000 times.
No such problem on the GSW or GW 6X9's... No electronics-a real plus.

Dear Gruyk12,
If you don't mind my asking, from your classified add it seems that you're selling the camera and I just wondered if it had anything to do with camera itself?
I don't mean to pry, it's just that I'm looking at getting one for work, or perhaps the older GL690 but still with the 65mm f/5.6, and wondered how you got on with it? I haven't heard or read much feedback from actual users of the cameras.

Fuji is the best for 6x9.

Yes, and that's why I have kept my GL690 with the 100/3.5 AE. I think, it takes a 58mm lens hood.

"Sproing" is also the sound the shutter makes; the most gawdawful noise I ever heard. But the negatives are sharp as a tack and unbelievably contrasty. Too much so for my taste, actually. I sold mine and am still looking for a suitable walking-around camera.

GASitis.. finally cured?
I have a GW690 III, and extremely satisfied with the performance. The on-street portraits with the large negatives is wonderful to look at.
