Any info on how to shim an Industar 61 l/d lens so to not back focus on a Canon 7 camera?

The early part of this video sort of shows how to get at the main split ring shim. Maybe add a .2 mm thick circular paper shim under the factory metal shim to make the lens focus well on Canon ltm RF cameras or Leica RF cameras ?

Construction is the same as the I-26m, which I substituted pictures at the end of the 15-year old thread on I-61L/D.

The shim- varies by lens, but typically 0.15mm is a starting point.

This is perfect timing - I've got a freshly lubricated I61 L/D on the bench that I've been meaning to shim for @Muggins for a couple of weeks now (sorry about the delay on that)! Hopefully I can find some time in the next week to finally get around to it.

Having re-fettled some Kodak Retinettes recently, I'm increasingly convinced that shim is, in fact, a four-letter word. Trying to get them all back in place when some are metal, some are paper and every one is a different sodding thickness is a royal PITA.

The ones on the Nikon RF's are worse. Little washers under each screw that holds the helical in place. They all have to match or else the helical is misaligned. I bought a Nikon S2 from a NHS collector- only had shims under 2 of the 3. That's why I converted it to Contax using MWS2 washers.

Having fixed a few junky Kiev RFs, I'm fairly happy saying that everything about that Contax-derived design exists somewhere between chaos and insanity. I honestly have no idea why Nikon went down that route instead of following everyone else down the LTM path.
