I have to agree with your comments Joe even if I don't use such media myself I'm ok with everyone else doing what they please. I light of your well written post I will change my NO to a YES
Would it really enhance our rff experience? Would change the way rff feels? I don't think it would change the nice little community we have here.
So what does The Head Barman think?

RangeFinderForum is on Facebook
RangeFinderForum is on Facebook
RFF is itself a very social medium, though not a Facebook or Twitter sort of way. How else could this many rangefinder enthusiasts discuss all things rangefinder?
I've just started a RFF Facebook page in order to introduce RFF to a wider audience. The new FB page is to promote RFF, not replace anything on RFF.

Rest assured there will be no likes or twitter links on the RFF forum site.

This is social media for me!
Hell NO ... thanks for asking ;]
Due to my ignorance on the subject, have mercy.
As a boring old fart I don't even know what "social media" are... Seriously, don't have an account at any of them and no interest at all in getting one.
Another vote against.
Cheers,
R.
+1 for all of the above.
RFF is not about the number of clicks, tweets and followers. It's about a discussion of interests that we share, mostly a little bit deeper than the average web discussions and mostly more civilized, some exceptions here and there...

I am not on Facebook, but if you start a Google+ page, i would follow that...

I don't like the idea that everything I post becomes a live feed on a site I don't subscribe to, via proxy. In fact I have left other photography groups due to forced facebook feeds. I do not wish to be assimilated.

Umm... no. Having to keeping in touch with random cohorts via FB is more than enough aggravation for me. Tweets? RSS? Ya gotta be kiddin' me!

p.s. and no I am not a Luddite - I shoot RAW exclusively with 2 DSLRs, built my own PC, repaired and upgraded my laptop, etc. but "social media" makes me want to puke. Maybe it's a Gen-X thing?

RSS is great. It's not a social thing. Rather, a great way to keep an eye on a site that you are interested in without having to go to that web site. An effective way to consume 20 web pages of interest in 5 minutes.
As for likes, pokes, retweets, pin, and +1 no thanks.

All good then - everyone happy. RFF as we love it, and a new group can find out about rangefinders.
Though I do predict a statistically significant increase in posts containing the letters LOL and ROFLMAO...

The last thing I want to know when ever any of you guys:
farted
ate something
liked something
feel something
post a duck-face picture of yourself
hooked up with someone
got dumped by someone
thought a link on the internet was cool
wanted to share something "emotional"
post pictures of yourself engaging in lewd behaviour

It seems to me that there is a wilful misunderstanding over this topic. Do you seriously believe that, for example, IlfordPhoto post when Simon galley farts, or Leica when there is cabbage soup in the canteen?
Not cabbage soup, but they did post this on facebook...
