This obscure model standing somewhere between Konica III* and Auto S seems to belong rather to cheaper made Auto S line, and pictures I have seen have that great touch.
It has selenium cell instead of electrical cell on Auto S models and slightly different 48/2 lens, which is rather same or very similar 47/1.9 as on Auto S. I assume that lack of AE mechanism makes shutter release smooth and nice.
Would love to read your story on this model.

Wow - never heard of that one. Konica made great cameras. Another causality of the digital era. Maybe that's why I hate digital so much. Sad to see the great camera makers of old dwindle down to a few survivors and be taken over by generic electronics companies like "Casio".

Hi -- SII and SIII are not that common compared with later Auto S2, but great manual rfdrd with good lenses:
SII with 48mmf2 came out in 1961 and SIII with similar but new body and 47f1.9 in 1963 -- same year as Auto S with 47f1.9, giving auto or manual metering alternatives.
season's greetings -- Danny

And there were even Konica S, seems exactly like SII except minor cosmetics. And yes, that SIII looks like S2, just has selenium-o-matic instead of battery and different lens.
I haven't used Auto S yet, but seems that it could be on par with S2. I wonder if lens of S2 is really so good or it just were most sold model which this days means many of them for sale.
Digitals also have remarkable cult models. It's a pity they will not be easily usable after another 50 years - to feel spirit of 2000ies.
