Any Leica 50 R-Lux "E60" owners out there?

I just secured one yesterday that just came back from Leica service November 2014. Came boxed.

I intend on converting it to 3-Cam to use on a black SL2-MOT. Already bought a 14198 3-Cam Macro R adapter for the cams. The Leitax website was very helpful in showing me the guts of an "E60" verses a 3-Cam Lux.

BTW the forensics on my SL2-MOT I believe because the meter is not accurate (fluxuates in changing light, so the Cds cell is working) that this is the reason why my 40 year old camera that was made in 1975 and is one of about 1020 ever made is basically in unused condition. Purchase price of the camera was $279.00. The next hurdle is getting the camera serviced by either DAG or Leica.

I have one that I used on R8s and now have Leitaxed and chipped for use on my Sony A99. It's a fantastic lens.

A R8-R9 is definately a possibility, but meanwhile I already own a black SL2-MOT and a Nikon F3P. For me the SL2-MOT has likely the best SLR VF'er I ever used, and that is from someone who optimized a F3P specifically for use with a Noct with a Beattie IntenScreen and Nikon DK-17.

Let us not forget that only about 1020 SL2-MOT's were ever made, SL2's sold for about twice that of a brand new Nikon F2 in 1975, and that the level and quality of overbuild of a SL2 was so high that Leica at that time lost money on ever SL2 they sold. On top of that although the years of production spans three years, production was only for two years.

The R8-R9 makes total sense to have all the automation of the ROM mount.

Thanks for the heads up. That means DAG and the possible long wait. Plan "B" is get a Leitax F-mount adapter and shoot it on my Nikon F3P.

Anyways kinda like a Swiss Army lens that can adapt to mucho cameras.

agree the SL2 viewfinder is unique, this will make an unbeatable combo.

there are many used modern R's. (esp R8) on a good day you might score one around 300 dollar, it's worth to try it imo.

again congrats on the legendary purchase.

As an SL MOT owner I agree that the viewfinder is great. The problem is that the camera itself, although really quite rare is only worth pennies and if that enormous motor dies it hard to find someone who would volunteer to bring it back to life.

Mind you, who uses a motor on a film camera these days?!

I just got my black SL2 back from Sherry Krauter who did a nice CLA and a meter repair, which involved replacing the battery housing, which had unseen wiring corrosion, and re calibrating the meter to work with the more readily available 1.5V batteries, instead of the NLA 1.35V Mercury batteries. Nice job, pleasant to deal with; meter accurate now, took around 4-5 weeks. Could not be happier. Well, I guess if I had your E60 I'd be a little happier.
Do a google search for her and decide. Good luck either way, fantastic camera.

I use a MD-4 on my Nikon F3P almost always. The F3P is kinda naked without it.

My SL2-MOT is the body only without the MD. I'm cool with that. I kinda like that it lacks the self timer.

...sorry, the meter thing is, I think, specific to SL MOT and presumable SL2 MOT.

As to the motor for the SL, it may be branded Leitz but I suspect was made by someone else.

The meter being always on seems to have been carried over to the SL2-MOT. When I send this camera to Sherry I'll inquire about getting the switch hooked up like on a plain SL2.

Also note that my SL2-MOT has a split image screen like a plain SL2. The microprism screen is standard on the SL2-MOT unless the split image is requested.

I'll be sure to get the camera also modded to run on silver oxide batteries.
