I don't know if there are many Leicaflex users out there. I use an SL MOT for focal lengths that my M is not very handy for, 60mm macro and 560 tele.
I sort of gave up with the Visoflex....
A couple of slightly daft questions:
Has anyone experience of using a 2x converter with 560mm? Is it usable bearing in mind that the 560 is set up to be hand (and shoulder) held?
I guess it would have to be the older Leica converter because I suspect the apo one may not fit (and I doubt I could afford it). How many stops would I lose?
Anyone had any success in bring a Leicaflex motor back to life?!
After all these years I still find these cameras, and their tremendous viewfinders, a real delight.

A 2X converter will cost you two f-stops. I'm not sure if there is anybody who could hold the 1.120mm converted lens steady in their hands alone. Maybe resting it on something? The only thing I miss about the Leicaflex SL is the 180/2.8 Elmarit. I have fantasies of finding the pre-set version in Visoflex II mount. I sold my two 'Flex bodies and an assortment of glass maybe ten years back. The Viso II gives a brighter more contrasty image and is easy enough to use with the 65/3.5 Elmar or the tele's.

You are right, 560 handheld even at 1/2000 is not always a winner! Losing two stops will make focus even more problematic...sounds like a not very good idea!
