Been going over some of my less-used cameras. Found a Hi-Matic-F that responds well and a Minolta REPO a 1/2 frame with a good meter! No batteries in it and I get two images per frame! What will they think of next! Oh, this modern age we live in! Anyone else have these small beauties?
 
I have a Hi-Matic G and 7sII that I take out from time to time and run a few rolls through. Both are still working as new..
 
i have an A5 that was my entry back into rangefinder photography. fantastic lens. alas, it no longer focuses. red robin, would you like to have it? i am no tinkerer of such small workings ...
 
I have a Himatic 7s that was my first "good" camera from around 1971. Still works fine when I have used it as a backup body over the years. The lens was always sharp and contrasty. My first "published" photos (graduation yearbook) were taken with this camera, so I have a warm place in my heart for it.
 
i had a Minolta Hi-Matic E that had a very nice 40mm 1.7 lens and a parallax-compensating rangefinder. Beautifully made camera. Excellent results, too.
 
I have a HiMatic 7S. I carry it almost everywhere. I bought it at a pawn shop years ago for $50. No batteries, I just use a hand-held meter.

Paul; Thanks for the offer I'm really trying to pare down my collection(pile). I've already passed along some to local new shooters maybe I'll sell some as I've started to feel bad having so many working cameras that just don't get used. So once more , Thanks Frank
 
I do not use it but I still have my first reflex camera, a Minolta SRT 101 (I'm very proud that was the first camera of Annie Leibovitz :) ) and I have an x700 with a 50 mm 1,7. I do not use them which had CLA a few years ago. This thread let me desire to give a try...

New to this forum, and I am a fan of old minolta cameras.

I bought a minolta Hi-matic 7 at a farmers market last spring. Lens and rangefinder are in great condition, body missing leather. I am planning on re-skinning it shortly. Ran several rolls of film through it and even took it on vacation to Florida. I think its a great little camera.
 
I bought a Minolta "A" Rangefinder a few months ago. Everything works well on the camera, and the Rokkor 45mm f/3.5 lens is very nice.
 
I have a black Minolta Hi-Matic 7s. Last time I used it was today when we went out shooting with bunch of photography students.

My canon eos 30d was out of battery so I picked up Hi-Matic 7s loaded with Tmax400. Also used Kalimar '80 light meter. Didnt regret for a second for choosing the 7s ! ;)
 
I have an SRT101 and a SRT201, neither work. I have the SR7 my dad carried in Vietnam, that still works. My Minolta XK's see regular use.
 
I used to have the Hi-Matic E. Nice 40mm 1.7 lens. Really liked the parallax self-correcting viewfinder and the build quality. Not so fond of the lack of manual options.
 
Last year I picked up a Minolta Himatic S zone focus camera to take with me on a trip to Ukraine. I used some Kodak B&W and was really amazed at the quality of the pics. Unfortunately, while returning through Frankfurt, the security guy wanted to look through my carry on bag which I knew he would because that's where I carry my photo equiptment as I don't want the stuff thrown around in the baggage hold. after going through the stuff he indicated OK go. I picked up the bag but he hadn't rezippered it and out went most everything including a hand painted tea pot in the box given to me as a gift, which broke in a thousand pieces and along with that my Minolta Himatic S camera.

I didn't use it until I got back home and then realized it wasn't working. The shutter is cocked, but it won't fire. I removed the bottom fiddled with it but with no results. Changed batteries but no soap. I still have it, but it's been replaced by another Himatic S which continues to travel with me. One of these days I'll pull out the original one to see if I can recessitate it. I recently picked up another one with two corroded batteries in it, but managed to get it working quite nicely.

My only dislike is that there's nothing in the viewfinder to indicate shutter speed or F Stop, but I am able override the flash which I like. They have nice lenses on them and the print quality to me is very nice. I've posted some here in RFF.
