Any news on the new Plustek 120 scanner?

Got a confirmation that I'll be getting a review unit from Plustek...the only question is when...crossing fingers it's soon!

I was thinking of saving my money for a new DSLR to switch more into digital - no boys!
I save my money now to buy this scanner and stay with film!
that´s all I ever dreamed of !
I couldn't have a darkroom because I have to less space in my small flat.
The misses didn´t allow me even to think of install a darkroom in the bath!
So I have to go the hybrid way and this scanner is more as I expected a scanner could do in a pricerange that is affordable.

If you see the details in the shadow you understand what I mean.
A Nikon would be great and maybe a bit better, but it is now nearly 10years old and was mostly used proffesional - so it´s worn out - spareparts are hard to get. The nikon was great but they stoped it and so it's history and no alternative.

Now that these samples from this guy are pretty much amazing can we get everybody who kvetched on this thread like angry internet trolls to come back and apologies for spewing stupidity?

:)

Yes, nice. It will be nice to see some high resolution scans.

I wonder if Plustek will come out with a glass film holder... ?

No Panorama-strips

No Panorama-strips

Will there be any way to scan a whole roll of uncut film?
Plustek did not listen to me when more than 10 years ago i mentioned offering us a scanner ala RS3570-kodaks 35-70mm vertical scanner. At least a normal one which has a slit to slip through long stripes. Missed chance!

The German dealer where I just ordered mine told me that they have already sold some, but ran out of stock and will get some more by the end of January.

Nice to see that someone in Austria ordered one!
So please post more when you get yours!

yep, it replaces my Coolscan 4000 that I modified (the SA-21) to scan full rolls of 35mm film. I will miss that capability, but on the other hand I can then scan my 6x6 slides at the resolution they deserve *g*

They are excellent, just to be clear though, they not mine. I just came upon them. It’s encouraging to see what looks to be pretty good quality scans finally ,after the wait.

Hi,

Did you ever compare the scans to another scanner? How do you feel that the plustek might compare to the Nikon Super CoolScan 9000. Are you ever going to post a high resolution picture?

He´s not the photog. of the flickr pics!
But stay tuned on flickr the pics are getting bigger - Stefan said on Flickr that he has to learn SilverFast and tries at the moment different things.
So I will expact some fullsize pics in the next days/weeks.

kanzlr - that why I´m waiting for this scanner!
I´ve got a Voigtländer Avus 6x9 with Rada Rollfilm back and want to use it ;)

I made my first steps in scanning now with my Reflecta CrystalScan 7200 and CyberView - now it´s time for something real.
This scanner was great to learn but it has a lot of problems which couldn´t be solved easily - so the old sentence - " You got what you paid for" is absolutly right!

Do we know if Ed Hamrick will be supporting this scanner via his program (Vuescan)?

Cheers,
Dave
