Any news on the new Plustek 120 scanner?

Is Xpan possible on Plustec 120?

Is Xpan possible on Plustec 120?

Please forgive my beginners question, but will it be possible to scan Xpan without too much fiddling?

Xpan Film holder for Plustek

Xpan Film holder for Plustek

Thanks all for responding. Mark your emphatic affirmative makes me even more impatient for the scanners launch.

It also make sense that a special holder will have to be made. I can only hope that the Xpan users will not be forgotten!

So in the mean time all I can do is wait ( and live even more frugally in order to pay for it when does arrive.)

I'll definitely be considering buying one.

I've been shooting 120 a ton lately and want something more than my Epson. I can't justify shelling out a ton of cash for a Nikon 9000ED when they don't update the software. The other option I was considering, an older SCSI Imacon, seems to be even more of a headache.

I can't wait for these to come out. Has the MSRP been announced?

Me too. I want to use 120 more and no-one nearby will develop/print it at a reasonable cost. I'd love to be able to develop at home and scan it into a computer (I can't justify getting a flatbed scanner ATM)..

If by "nearby" you mean in the southern hemisphere, you nailed it 1000% (and you can add decent-quality scanning and 35mm to that too) :bang:

I just sent a couple of rolls of 120 (colour, 645 and 6x9) off to NCPS for processing and scanning. I know, it seems ridiculous to send film from Australia to the US (and back) but at the moment there does not seem to be any viable alternative, especially for those of us who, for whatever reason/s, cannot set up their own processing for B&W :(

I am really looking forward to seeing how the new MF Plustek works out. I hope they managed to source a really top-notch CCD since the original one fell through.

Happy Easter (if that's your bag!)
Scott :)

There are labs that might be better options than NCPS...that offer downloading instead of having to mail CDs, and will store your negs until such time they can be shipped back in bulk, saving quite a bit on postage....
