Hi all,

I have recently gotten a used CV 35/1.7 for use with the GXR-M. As it is a 52mm crop, is there a hood besides the small original one that can be used to provide greater flare protection? Something rectangular perhaps?

Thanks

If you remove the original round hood, you might be able mount any of the a42 clip-on Leica hoods, such as ITOOY, IROOA, 12585, et al. This works on the CV 50/2.5 and 35/2.5 Skopars, which have a similar basic hood and 39mm filter size.

You might also try the CV LH-2 hood, which fits the 50/2.5, 35/2.5 and 28/3.5 Skopars. I don't know for a fact that the Ultron 35/1.7 has exactly the same external hood mounting threads as the Skopars, but it might....

And, of course, you could just get any generic 39mm screw-in hood.

Cheers,
Ari

I had a 35 1.7 briefly and I used a Leica 12585 vented clip on hood. It clipped over the external threads used for the screw in Voigtlander hood.
If I were doing it again today i would just pick up one of the inexpensive 39mm screw in type vented ones from ebay.

i have always used mine without a hood and it never flared, but good thing to learn that i can use the clip on square hood! had never tried that. though it feels a bit too long.
