The filter factor is 1. That is in the PDF. A filter of 80% would have a factor of 1.2.(approx)
Hi JAAP
I read that also, a filter factor of 1.
It's just me. I am having trouble making sense of the B+W graph which has the transmission factor of the 486 UV-IR cut filter a hairs width above 80%.
Here's a link to the data I'm referring to ...
http://www.schneiderkreuznach.com/industrial_filters/uvir_cut_filters.htm
The downloadable document is also there on the left of the page so I downloaded and enlarged it in Adobe Acrobat. (Refer to the dark grey 486 curve.)
Have I misinterpreted the reading of this chart and what I am seeing?. Isn't this filter passing visual information at 80%? Any help in bringing me up to speed on this would be appreciated.
BTW, optical design and analysis is well and truly outside my skillset, but I'm keen to drill down into this particular area and learn from the forum as it will obviously affect me and my M8 useage.
Or am I flogging a dead horse?
