Friends!

Have anyone heard any recent news from Fuji on when cameras can be expected to be delivered to Europe and all of us who have orders waiting!?

I must say that it is a little bit dissapointed that Fuji has not posted more solid information at their X100 website and/or in other ways. We all understand the initial caos that must have followed from the earthquake but by now the bigger global Fuji organisation should at least be able to give some news even if it is "do not know for another x weeks" or so!?

Anyone picked any solid news!?

I received an e-mail from Henry's in Canada today asking if I wanted to renew my deposit for the camera. In the e-mail they indicated that it was "in stock now". Hard to say if this is precisely true, or if its just standard language they use when requesting deposit renewals. I guess I'll find out in the next week or so.

Dude, there's 11,800 dead and 15,540 missing (at last count) largely from the area and you're worried about a delivery date? There's still a lot of people off work doing very human things like living in shelters and looking for the missing.

There's very real infrastructure issues of shipping at this point -- Sendai harbor needs to be reserved for infrastructure repair (it is outside the Fukushima exclusion zone), so normal shipping out of that port may not ramp up for years.

Then there's the issue of getting cameras to another port by train: earthquakes did some damage to tracks.

So -- who knows? It'll get there when it gets there. I'm reasonably sure some may have already been aboard existing containers, though, given how these things work.
