I have 2 batteries for my M9P, one with the Russian script; the other, not. One came with the camera, the other purchased more recently from EP Levine.
The "Russian" battery will not charge to beyond ~65%, while the non-"Russian" goes fully to 100%.
I'm not sure which came with the camera, but both have been used lightly.
Any suggestions on how to proceed?
Harry
Edit: Sorry for misinformation: Both batteries have the Russian script.

Ask your dealer/Leica. Russian script batteries are original Leica.

I do have a call into Leica NJ, but they've yet to return it. Will try the dealer.

Good news! I just spoke with Sarah at Leica. They will send out a new battery and requested that I send the bad unit back to them - which I will do.

The production date in week and year format is imprinted on the battery. It's a good idea to check how old is the battery.

No date on the battery that I can see.

It may be either counterfeit or very old.
There should be 4 digits imprinted. Mine is 5011, meaning week 50, 2011.

Leica doesn't sell counterfeit batteries.
The only date-like numbers are 11/34/50 on the Russian-script side and 14464 on the other side.
We'll see what Leica has to say when they receive the defective one.

I checked two of my batteries. 14464 (aside from the recycling 5 and a phone number) is the only number each one has.

I have two Leica batteries and twelve batteries from another brand. They all work well.
Glad to see that Leica repaces bad batteries.

Received the new battery; it charges to 100%. Sent the defective one back for Leica analysis. Thanks, Leica NJ.

Edit: No date on the new battery either.
