Any XP1 owners miss their X100?

(assuming you sold your X100 when you made the switch)

The XP1 is great, real improvements all over the place vs. the X100.

But I miss the little guy. So compact and unassuming.
I wouldn't get enough use out of it to justify buying another one used, but if a X200 ever appears with the sensor and interface improvements from the XP1 it's going to be tough to say no.
 
interface improvements are always welcome. but as an x100 owner, is your thought that the 'sensor improvements' of the xpro would make the IQ of the x100 better? ive not heard nor myself thought that x100 owners even contemplated that they could get better files outta that little guy!
 
thats great. i honestly couldnt imagine it getting better. i havent done any prints; did you find x100 prints disappointing in general or just at certain sizes?
 
X100 prints were great from 200-800, it was really only at high ISOs that I found the lack of detail bothersome. Which could just be an issue for me. And an invitation for me to spend more time shooting when the sun is out.
 
I love the X100 focal length. I've been lusting after an XPro, but I'd keep the X100 if I bought one unless they make a 24mm lens for it.

I suspect I am falling for their booby trap.
 
i so enjoy shooting legacy lenses that i would not invest in a closed end system again. so as long as i'm shooting 'crop' cams, i see the x100 with its 35/2 as 'complementary' since it cant be duplicated on crop with legacies. and i'm glad about that! ):

I put my X100 in the cabinet when I got the XP1. I wanted to get use to the XP1 and the narrower FOV of the 35/1.4.

A week later I realized I really miss the X100. After 11 months of carrying the X100 every day I do miss the wider FOV. The XP1 does handle better for me and the AF and fly-by-wire focusing is better too. However the difference in AF performance is not that great with 1.21 installed.

Anyway, the X100 is getting a vacation, but I definitely will not sell it for the foreseeable future. Deciding which camera to take on a given day will be a nice problem to have.

I was going to sell the X100 and get the black edition. Instead I think I'll spend the money on the 18/2.
 
Never gave my x100 a vacation. I like carrying two cameras with different focal lengths, plus the x100 with leaf shutter is dead quiet for those times u need it.

I saw a guy shooting with an XP1 in Little Tokyo yesterday.. after he walked by, I noticed he also had an X100 hanging from his shoulder. I'd imagine most XP1 owners would do the same, at least at first..
 
I do not plan on selling my x100 unless a better version such as a x200 comes out... even if I buy a 23 x mount for the xp1 :)

The analogy I would make is how many of us had a m6 and an autofocus like a Konica hexar af.

The main point for me is that the x100 is slightly smaller and lighter. It can easily fit in my jacket pocket and with the leaf shutter is dead quiet. I have a different use for the x100 then the xp1.

My story is a bit different. Yes I miss the X100. I was one of the early adopters of that camera. I just loved the smallness and the images I could create with it. Sadly I got overwhelmed with all the niggles and issues while waiting for firmware updates. I sold it after using it about 3 months. A few months after it was gone I realized my mistake but never replaced it. When the XP1 was released I jumped on it. And I'm so glad I have it.

That's exactly how I reacted to the X-Pro1. I was initally very interested, until I came to my senses and remembered that the whole reason behind getting the x100 was to get away from the "system" camera. The compactness, the lightness, the IQ, and the fixed lens of the x100 is just about perfect for me.

I just wish that mine would hurry up and get back from Fuji UK. It went in a few days ago, for its 11-month pre-warranty expiry check, and it seems as though it has been gone for months. Still, at least some of my other gear has been getting some use... for a change!
 
I sold mine and don;t miss it. It had only one flaw and that is that it has a fixed lens. The xpro fixed that. I use a Oly 24/2.0 until fuji comes with a 23mm.
