I really need a little help, or I'm gonna be framing 90mm shots with my internal 50mm finder tomorrow at my little girl's BB game : ( As I posted before, my imarect got dropped last weekend (by said daughter), and lost it's view...I could hear something rattling around inside. So I just opened it up, and there is a little triangular prism (about the size of a Monopoly house's roof) that's come loose from somewhere, but I don't know where it goes. Is it supposed to be glued down somewhere? There is a series of other prisms, but they are all secured by metal braces. There are no other loose parts. Two sides of this little prism are painted black, and one side does indeed look tacky with a bit of glue residue on it. Anyone know? Thanks for any help!

Thanks Stu for the help, that is a great link, I've removed the "prism train" and cleaned out the inside. I just can't figure out exactly where to glue this prism. Where, for instance, should the long edge of the prism be in relation to the eyepiece? I've tried setting it in different positions, but can't get an image.

Opening up the Imarect is not something to be done in haste. Indeed, I could not procure the proper narrow-headed flat driver to unscrew the eyepiece plate...resorted to a butter knife. And then, of course (although probably even with proper tool in hand), the paint easily comes up around the screws, leaving brilliant brass (but I like it). That being said, and if I could invoke a dickensian (bronte-ish?) tone, might I implore you, gentle reader, at this late hour, should you have a beater Imarect at hand, to crack open that fair finder and take a digi shot of the position of that forward-most prism, that I might position mine similarly? Or set me straight with the right words, that I might be saved from giving ebay one Ulysses Grant for the hunk of poo I might find there?
