Anybody got a Minolta A5?

Hi Guys,
I recently bought a minolta A5 rangefinder off ebay. Its in great condition, just a bit dirty, but the film advance lever isnt sprung like on my minolta 7s and zenit E. Is this normal for this camera? It doesn't appear to be causing any problems, the film spools are advancing normally, I'm just worried that the lever may come loose etc?

I have the AL from the A series of Minolta rangefinders and the advance lever has a spring return. The AL and A5 are based on the same chassis so I would think that the lever should have a spring return.
