Got my PSE 5.0 for about 2 weeks now, and here are my impressions
- yes, curves is limited and 8 bit only. I haven't had to use it even once...maybe when I start working on some scans
- PSE is not CS2, that's both it's strength and weakness. I prefer the simpler interface and functionality most of the time.
- the raw convertor works quite well, little to no tweaks needed after selecting the right options when converting
- many of the simple tools like "shadows & highlights", "healing tool" are added since v2.0 and are 16bit enabled. S&H is a good simple tool to do most of what you can do with curves.
- lens distortion tool is nice, 8 bit only but useful.
- PSE 5.0 is also XP only for Windoze users, W2K is not supported
That's it for now. Feel free to ask questions.
