Hi
I hope to spend a few days in Southern Moravia (Czech Republic) this year. IMO it's equal to Italian Tuscany, as a place to make photos. Any tips where to stay (what town)? Place with hotel (not very expensive) which will be starting point for some short journeys (on foot, local train, bus). And nice landscapes around...

The landscape is very pretty indeed, but the temperatures are not anywhere near Tuscany, so it's better to avoid the winter... I drove through that area many times on the way from Italy to Poland.

Pouzdřany and the towns near the Thaya water reservoirs of Nové Mlýny are lovely.
There is a lot of affordable world-class wine. Gotberg is my favourite.
Lots of nice walking anywhere south-east of Ostrava.
PM me if you'd like some more suggestions; I have spent enough time there to know it fairly well.
