You're right but If you've ever raised a teen to adulthood, you know that the cost is unbelievable, including car insurance, car wrecks, dates, beer, 5 yrs. university (UT) education, etc. So I've done my duty. He's now on his own and can foot this bill by himself (hahahahaha).

Hmm.. you are seriously tempting me. I have an M3 with viewfinder upgrade for 35, 50, 90 and 135 VF that I'm seriously thinking about selling... the only catch is that I'm not in Austin, TX. Located in Savannah, GA right now but soon to be Arkansas in about three weeks....

Has your son checked with Precison Photo in Austin? Not the least expensive option, but they might have one.

PS: There was an M3 at Houston Camera Co-op the last time I was there. Yikes, almost a year ago. If it's still there, Camera Co-op had sent it to DAG for a CLA before it went in there display case. I saw the invoice. So. the camera is unused since the CLA. When I held it, the price was $830. Your son could call them. Ask for Jeff. He treated me right.

I still have a SS M3 for sale in Houston which I listed in the "Classifieds" recently for $725, also have a new 50/2 ZM Planar for sale, PM me if you're interested.

I'm out of town until Tuesday but I do have an M2 that is over 1 Million that I'd be happy to part with. The camera has 50 Summitar as well that will complete the package.

Really good tip. I'll ask him. They're probably pretty high since they kinda have a monopoly--it's not like Houston. However, he doesn't ever go back to Houston anymore. I don't blame him. $830 seems pretty high--it must've been pristine.

Actually, it wasn't pristine. A DS M3 as I recall. User to beater exterior. The DAG invoice was for $300. It had been sitting for 6 months the last time I was there. Sounds like you have several leads.

Actually, Precision has used film gear on the internet. Nobody in Houston has that service. Houston is a Film Black Hole if you ask me.

For what it's worth, this thread generated more discussion in less than 24 hours than all of the Want To Buy ads I've placed in the last few months.
