Anybody own Affinity Photo, or were you a beta tester?

Installing it right now. On sale for $39 in the Apple App store, it has received good initial reviews.

It is not a Photoshop replacement, but it reviewed as a "pro" application. Interface very un-photoshop.

Just looking for comments from users, opinions etc. hopefully a friendly thread. :)

Does it do perspective correction? How easy is it to get photos back and forth from it to Aperture.

However, it's not ready for prime time. See the screen grab. Make a layer, put an outer glow on it, drag it around and watch all the trails. CS5 does not do this. Kind of a deal killer.

Probably looking for more horsepower? Or Yosemite?

OK on my Mini running Yosemite. 3 GHz i7, 16GB No outlines "remembered."

And I thought app store purchases were for iOS devices only. Silly me.

is the discount applied after purchase?
it says it is $45.99 usd with 20% off which would be more like $36 not $39...which is closer to 49 cdn.

I had the Beta already and bought it. Haven't had time to go into it really. What I was missing is the Actions-feature of PS but they are promising a macro persona on the forum which will be kinda that function.

I find that software is a no-brainer at 40€ .. it's crazy how good it is. I just need to wrap my head around a different workflow now

I have just begun using it, but it is a steal IMO. I no longer use photoshop features, which are not directly related to photography.

didn't realize it was apple canada...doh!

Yeah Apple redirects any use, just like Netflix or the BBC. I would have to go trough a virtual network to access canada, so it appeared I was inside Canada. That is how I watch UK videos on the the BBC and Sky.

I was a Beta-Downloader/Tester from the very beginning, yesterday I bought it as soon as it was available. Since I avoid PS - never liked the interface, the subscription-model lately and other things about it. Instead, whenever I needed photo editing, I used Gimp on Linux and MacOSX, but was also never really happy, because of its restriction to 8 bit per color channel. Affinity was a welcome alternative.

Although it took me some time to get used to the interface, I think it is an impressive SW for a very reasonable price. I wish, there was a Lightroom-alternative on that level for that price...

Interesting... So you have some time with it.
Could you say a few words about it's ability to manage and edit RAW files?

I downloaded it yesterday. Looking for an Aperture solution as well as a PS replacement.
I like that it's Mac oriented !

If you are searching only for a RAW developer, I think, it will do the work. Maybe depending on the file type (in my case M240 and Olympus E-M1 and Air). I was very surprised, that Affinity was able to load the Olympus Air RAWs (ORF), because Lightroom was not.

It has all the adjustments, that you need and does a pretty good job. But for this type of work I more used to LR, so this is, what I'm using for the time being.

I think, with the batch-processing and if you have created a good workflow for your need, Affinity is a pretty good alternative for developing RAWs. Surely worth a closer look.

The interface is odd, after years of Photoshop, but I am beginning to get the hang of it.

I continue to use Pixelmator.

Yes, I too think, that it is mostly a question of familiarisation with the interface concept. At least, I would say, it is a consistent concept so far. The "Persona" task oriented interface concept reduces complexity. That should make learning easier.

Not sure why, but oddly it reminds me of "Live Picture."

Although Live Picture never quite worked for me, everything you do in Live Picture became a layer.
