I have recently purchased an Epson R3000. Love it, but the Ultracrhome K3 ink cartridges are expensive. I've been seriously considering purchasing the Ink Supply refill kit for $195.00. Seems very cost effective. Checking with the Ink Supply folks, they say that I can just use Epson profiles. But I am wondering if I will see any difference vs the Epson K3 inks.

I have used the K4 inks in my 2400 and found them to be compatible. I used a lot of MIS (Inksupply) custom ink sets back ten years ago. Even used a number of their Continuous Ink Systems. I went back to using Epson inks about 4 years ago in spite of the cost simply because the carts were always 100% perfect.

Thanks for the info... I have been using a MIS continuous flow system (B&W only) on my Epson C88 for a bit over a year and am very happy with the results. Still on the original set of 4oz ink bottles (and only about half gone).

As soon as I get the $200 rebate check from Epson, I will pull the trigger on the refill kit for my R3000.

Received my $200 rebate from Epson for my R3000 purchase, so I pulled the trigger on the $195 refill kit yesterday. Kit has 9 refillable carts, syringes and 9 4oz bottles of their K4 inks. I will report back after have had a chance to install it and give it a whirl.

Just a quick update... I am planning on posting a review of the InkSupply K4 inkset, but still trying to run the original set of Epson carts out on my R3000. These things just keep going and going. I have only changed the PK, and only because I did a few swaps between glossy and matte paper.
