I don't like the 50mm view and prefer the 40-45mm look. I just sold my 50mm DR to an RFF member, and would like to get this lens. Am I going to have any problems with RF focus accuracy and the M3? I use this length on my DSLR's & SLR, and I love the FOV.

The widest frame lines on a M3 are for 50mm. Use the very edges of the View finder or an auxillary finder.

Focus is the same as a 50.

CameraQuest sells a 40 finder. Imerects are continuously variable. So are Nikon finders and they are better than immerects.

???

???

I don't need an aux finder. I am good at estimation framing. I understand the frame lines, but I want to know if the focus will be accurate using 40mm using the M3.

No, the M3 and 40 will focus fine.

In fact, any M mount lens will focus correctly on an M3. The only question is will the viewfinder display the correct frame lines. Keep in mind, frame lines are what give you parallax correction (moving the frame lines down and to the right the closer you focus).

I use a 40/1.4 on my M6 and love it.

I use the 40/1.4 on an M3 and love it -- you'll have no problems with focusing... in fact, as Bill says, the M3 shouldn't have problems with any lens, should it?

Anyway. It's a lovely little lens, enjoy it. 🙂
