Anyone else shoot only primes on DSLR due to Rangefinder photography?

Ideally I like using zooms for general work and paid photoshoots, and switching to primes only when I need speed or separation. For personal stuff I like using small primes.

The 24-70mm f2.8L is a really good lens, and the 70-200mm f2.8L II is superb at every aperture, at every focal length - better than even most primes at similar lengths. The 16-35mm f2.8L is very good for what it is too...

The 24-105mm f4L makes for a superb do everything lens if the size doesn't bother you, especially supplemented with a fast 50 for low light...

Just depends what you do I guess. For work a big camera and a good quality do it all is a huge advantage - smaller cameras don't handle well in those situations. For personal I want it small as possible.

Yeah, I should add that I've never been paid to take a photograph in my life. I just shoot for fun. Zoom lenses would be much more enticing if I were shooting a variety of things for other folks .

Since I started using rangefinders, I tend to favour primes over zooms. Although I don't have an SLR kit at the moment, I'm intending to get a 5Dmk2 once the 2nd hand prices get more affordable. I'd then use it with my OM-mount 50mm f/1.8 with EOS adapter, and get another 17-40mm to cover the wide angles, and the 85mm f/1.8 for portraits.
