If so, could you please walk up to the Apple booth (I hear they've got a big presence there) and ask them if their just-announced "Aperture" software will support the R-D 1's raw ERF files?
Even if it doesn't, maybe if a few people ask they'll realize they should add it.
[For those who haven't read the info, Aperture is a new category of "post-production" software for still photographers. It claims to let you edit, sort and catalog projects involving thousands of images, do basic prep and retouching (without altering your original master files) and output contact prints, web pages, books, etc. -- all without ever having to convert your images out of raw format. It'll cost $500 and require a fairly studly Mac, but for people who shoot a lot of raw files, this approach fills a major need.]

It supports Adobe DNG format so you could use that for now, I’m sure Apple will want the R-D1 under support at some point.

I saw that list, but note that it is only a list of DSLRs for which Aperture claims to offer "optimized" support:
Aperture supports digital cameras from a wide variety of manufacturers, including Canon, Fujifilm, Hewlett Packard, Kodak, Konica Minolta, Nikon, Olympus and Sony. It offers optimized support for the RAW formats of the following digital SLRs:
What's the difference between "support" and "optimized support"? That would be another interesting question...

I’m guessing more filter support and better sharpening algorithms. Just a guess.
Should be able to get my hands on a copy soon, if i do i'll let you know.

There is now a report page on Macintouch:
http://macintouch.com/aperture.html
I think it would be interesting to get feedback from someone who can compare Capture Raw and Aperture.
It also is clear that to use it requires a lot of computer power. A lot more than I have right now, that's for sure.
