I'm still new to fsu stuff,- but love my 'new' Fed 2b, that arrived a couple of weeks ago (from Fedka)....might even get a black one!! I like the big '120' negs, occasionally-and am considering getting an Iskra, to slip in my pocket. I've never seen one 'in the flesh' - and there does'nt seem to be much mention of them....so guys, please tell me about lens quallity, reliability, etc. .....or should I forget it, and look for a Agfa or Ziess etc. - or maybe a Mockba 5 ?? 😕

Thanks, & regards, Dave🙂

Unless you want the huge 6x9 negs, then I would go for an Iskra over a Moskva... the rangefinder isn't brilliant on the Moskva and the viewfinder is a bit of a joke. Good lens though.

Cheers

Matt

Go for the Iskra. Lens is a cracking Tessar copy, well built. Just check that the film advance/double-exposure is working properly. I prefer it to my Zeiss (x4) and Moskva 5. It just feels sooo good!

Save your money and stick with the "Commie" stuff. Unusual/outstanding/unsurpassed glass, they are rugged but many have been mishandled (film advance), rugged bellows (many other old folders have problems), cool😎 leather case with red lining, etc, etc.😀

I have three for the price of a good German folder. Astia in one, Portra in the other and the third for cannibalizing parts for the other two. 😀

I just got one last week from a fellow RFFer that was CLA'd and refinished by Oleg. I've dubbed it the Smurfskra:

It's a great camera and well worth picking up. I can't wait to take this on my upcoming business trip to Europe.
