Lookin for a dreamish/spiritual effect in a set of picture I'm planing to do and I belive this is the way to go. Please show me what you get with your hazy, fungus, scratches lenses.

A description of the lens and the level of damage will be very appreciate it.

since you are doing it digitally why don't you just apply some creative fungus effects after the event. I'm sure you'll find a fungus filter if you look hard enough. Or just put a lens protection filter on and smear some vaseline over it.

Being a little bit careful about it, you could try several ideas. As well as finding a Thambar (ha!) how about making a central blob to cut down the light. Use tape to cover the middle of a filter and you can use just the edges of the lens. Or, as suggested, put something smeary on the filter and see what you get, or even multiple small apertures instead of the usual central 'hole'? Needless to say, keep notes. A pic of the filter or device, plus another of the result, could make a very interesting and useful post here when you have finished the experiment ! :)

Besides the advice already given you could buy some soft focus filters or diffusion filters stacked. Or just go to KEH or Adorama and buy a lens in "ugly" condition. Be sure to DEMAND that is has fungus and haze on it and that you will accept nothing less. I'm sure the salesman would get a good chuckle out of that.

Sounds like you're looking for Leica "glow". In that case, can't you just shoot with a good condition pre-asph 35mm summilux? ;)

(I love my summilux)

The old trick is to pull a nylon stocking over the lens (after removing it from the leg)

What effect are you looking for?

Using a hazy lens, or damaged lens, not too much different from a special effects filter.

Now- if you want something "completely different", try things like reversing the rear optics of the lens or even making your own out of parts. Easier to do with an SLR, but can be done with an RF.

Half Sonnar, Half Planar, RF coupled.

Do the neighbors ever complain about the power surges traced back to the lightning striking the rod on the top of your house? The terrifying laughs heard from your basement? You strange short friend who walks with the weird gate?

The maniacal laugh does come naturally, but most people around me find it very comforting.

Strange that you would mention high-voltage today.
