Sorry no picture because I only own a R-D1. Untill now.
But it seems to be true :
R-D1
142 x 89 x 40 mm (5.6 x 3.5 x 1.6 in)
M8
139 x 80 x 37 mm (5.5 x 3.1 x 1.5 in)

This is the closest I have.. I no longer have my R-D1 nor the Canon 1dMII in the pic.

Not perfect, but the best I have at hand. There is not a lot in it, but the RD1 is, and does feel, bigger.

I own both. The R-D1 is a little bit bigger than M8 for sure.

the top of the M8 is flatter, the R-D1's viewfinder/RF area is higher

Here is a picture of my M8 and my R-D1s. Both have the Canon 50mm F0.95 lens to show the size differences. I love both cameras.

Twice the frustration to be exact. One is a "TV" and one is a "standard". I get quite different results from each to be honest. Both of these Canons will be put up for sale soon. My Noctilux has trumped them.
