Anyone in Kentucky?

Looks like this cat will be heading to Kentucky this summer. I will be somewhere near the Mammoth Cave National Park. Sounds like a beautiful part of the country. I will have to look on a map to see how far that is from Bluefield, WV. I have a friend who lived there for a little while. He had some customers in Kentucky.

Opps, I just looked, not very close.

There has to be a horse track somewhere near where I am going right?

Horse racing in in Lexington and Louisville mostly and only during a specific time of the year. Just about any part of KY is beautiful, but then again I am biased after living there for 20 years. Land Between the Lakes area is great for nature shots, the county side is BURSTING with great ops for country/rural images, the caves are great but take flashbulbs if you want images. No joke. Electronic flashes wont even begin to light some of those rooms, even with their exisitng lighting and they wont let you use a tripod. Take time to look around and have a good time. It is really a fantastic area.

It will be in July. I will be getting together to talk with my brother this weekend and I will send you an email. It is either the 2nd or 3rd week, he is getting a condo from a friend for $150 for the week and the wife just said yes. I did think of you Joe when my wife hung up the phone, I am looking forward to meeting you. Have you made your plans yet?

being who i am, i have been moving too slow and no plans are set up yet.

i just emailed my buddy to see what we are up to.
my holiday will be based on his schedule so my options are limited.

hey, if doesn't happen this time there will be other times...like when you head up north to observe the canadian postal system in action for yourself.

I have been wanting to see the northern lights. How often do they get that far south? I will call my brother tomorrow too. This is a time share deal which his friend isn't going to use, which is why it is so cheap. I don't know how set in stone our week is.

but please don't change things around on my account, i'd have to feel guilty about that and i don't do guilt well. 😉
