While walking around my neighbourhood recently I came upon a house being cleared out (foreclosure, estate or other). There are apparently a lot of old glass plates (exposed) which might end up in the garbage. Is this something that anyone here might be interested in? I haven't seen them so I can't say if this is the next Vivian Maier. The gentleman responsible would rather give them out to someone than throw them out. Let me know if interested.

How many is a lot? Any idea of the plate size, subject matter, condition of the emulsion, whether they were dry plate, collodion wet plate, negative, positive (e.g. ambrotype)? Anything of potential historical significance? Has he checked with a local museum?

Absolutely interested !

And if these plates are of any historic importance, I could get you or the owner in touch with the photography archive folks at the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson.
